Rotor hub sensor NBT-D/S3 SIL2/PLd
The NBT-D/S3 rotor hub sensor is used to measure the rotational speed of a rotor, e.g. a shaft. The combination of a tilt sensor and a rotation rate sensor in a MEMS design makes it possible to measure rotation speed without having to connect the sensor directly to the axis of rotation. Special mathematical filter functions result in a very accurate rotation rate signal that is independent of disturbance acceleration and temperature and can be used for safe monitoring and control of the rotation. This makes the sensor an inexpensive and easy-to-install alternative to many common magnetic tape sensors and add-on encoders with complex mounting.
