Dual Variable Displacement Motor for Open and Closed Circuit Applications
This new axial piston motor was developed by LHY Powertrain to achieve higher maximum speeds than conventional swashplate designs. Additionally, its large displacement in a compact construction provides a wider transmission speed range that is typically achieved using modular gearboxes.
The HMV-02 D motor is approximately 30% lighter than a motor combined with an intermediate gearbox and occupies less space. Increased power density has been achieved through an innovative design featuring two rotating groups with swashplates arranged “face-to-face”. As a result:
Only one control is needed to adjust the displacement of both motors
Internal lateral forces are compensated
Just one drive shaft and two bearings (instead of four) are required for both rotating groups
This optimized design reduces complexity while maintaining high performance in both open and closed circuit hydraulic systems.
